Tennessee Reed entered the world of poetry at a very young age, having published her first poetry collection, Circus in the Sky, at eleven years old, and her second, Electric Chocolate, at age thirteen. By the time she was a college junior she’d had five books published. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, and received her MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College. Reed has presented poetry readings throughout the United States, England, Japan, the Netherlands, and Germany. She became the youngest person presented by the United States Information Agency’s Arts America Program. Her poetry has appeared in various anthologies and journals, including The Raven Chronicles, Konch Magazine, and more. Reed serves the Oakland, California literary community as the Secretary of PEN Oakland.
