Joshua Bennett is a performance poet from Yonkers, NY. He has performed at events such as the NAACP Image Awards, The Sundance Film Festival, and President Obama’s Evening of Poetry and Music at the White House. He has been published or is forthcoming in works such as Disability Studies Quarterly, Drunken Boat, Muzzle, Poetry Northeast, and Callaloo. Bennett is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a second-year doctoral candidate in the English department at Princeton University. He’s received fellowships from the Ford Foundation, Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop, The Center for the Study of Social Difference at Columbia University, and more. He is the winner of the 2014 Lucille Clifton Poetry Prize, and founding editor of Kinfolks Quarterly: A Journal of Black Expression.
