Dawn Lundy Martin received her B.A. from the University of Connecticut, her M.A. from San Francisco State University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts. She has published multiple poetry collections including A Gathering of Matter / A Matter of Gathering and Discipline. She is also the author of two chapbooks The Undress and The Morning Hour. Her work has been selected for honors such as the Carl Phillips for the 2007 Cave Canem Poetry Prize, the 2009 Nightboat Books Poetry Prize, and the C. D. Wright for the Poetry Society of America’s National Chapbook Fellowship. She is co-founder of the Third Wave Foundation in New York and in 2003 she co-edited The Fire This Time: Young Activists and the New Feminism, a collection of essays on activism in America. Martin has taught at the University of Pittsburgh, The New School, and Bard College.
